W latach 1995 do 2000 zorganizowa\u0142 i uruchomi\u0142 nowy kierunek kszta\u0142cenia Edukacja Techniczno-Informatyczna oraz specjalno\u015b\u0107 In\u017cynieria Spajania. Na studiach stacjonarnych i niestacjonarnych w AGH prowadzi\u0142 wyk\u0142ady z metalurgii i metaloznawstwa po\u0142\u0105cze\u0144 spawanych, obr\u00f3bki ubytkowej i spajania oraz spawalno\u015bci materia\u0142\u00f3w konstrukcyjnych. Prowadzi\u0142 i nadal prowadzi wyk\u0142ady na studiach podyplomowych (IWE) w zakresie spawalno\u015bci materia\u0142\u00f3w in\u017cynierskich&nbsp; oraz specjalnych metod spajania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jest promotorem ponad 300 prac dyplomowych magisterskich i in\u017cynierskich w AGH oraz ok. 100 prac dyplomowych magisterskich i licencjackich w Uniwersytecie Pedagogicznym w Krakowie (\u0142\u0105cznie ok. 400 prac). Jest promotorem 6 prac doktorskich, recenzentem 25 prac doktorskich, recenzentem 10 wniosk\u00f3w o tytu\u0142 doktora habilitowanego&nbsp; i 7 wniosk\u00f3w o tytu\u0142 profesora. Edmund Tasak<\/strong><br>\ud83d\udca5Member of the Competition Chapter of MKES 2025<br>\ud83d\udccbRetired Professor at AGH University of Krakow<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prof. Edmund Tasak is a materials engineer, a graduate of the Faculty of Metallurgy at AGH University of Krakow. He completed his studies in 1969, specializing in Metallurgy and Heat Treatment. He earned his PhD in technical sciences in 1974 and his habilitation degree in the field of metallography and heat treatment in 1984. He was awarded the title of Professor of Technical Sciences in 2003. During his career at AGH, he served as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Head of the Heat Treatment and Welding Laboratory. From 1995 to 2000, he organized and launched a new field of study, Technical and IT Education, and the Welding Engineering specialty. He conducted lectures on metallurgy and metallography of welded joints, subtractive processes and welding, as well as weldability of construction materials in both full-time and part-time programs at AGH. He also teaches postgraduate courses (IWE) on the weldability of engineering materials and special welding methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He has supervised over 300 master&#8217;s and engineering theses at AGH, as well as around 100 master&#8217;s and bachelor\u2019s theses at the Pedagogical University of Krakow (a total of approximately 400 theses). He has been the supervisor for 6 doctoral theses, reviewer for 25 doctoral theses, reviewer for 10 habilitation applications, and 7 professor title applications. He has reviewed 18 books and monographs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his professional career, he specialized in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Materials engineering<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Structural fracture and weldability of construction materials<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Corrosion and cracking of steel in contact with liquid metals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Material selection and enhancement of the durability of railway switches<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Weldability of steels used in the construction of power equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His scientific and research activities have been closely linked to industry. Since 1969, he has been a consultant for numerous industrial enterprises. He has conducted and led approximately 180 research projects directly related to production issues. He is the author or co-author of 8 patents, including 4 in the area of railway switch connections and materials for interlayer use. He led 25 research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (including 10 targeted projects). Additionally, as an expert witness, he has authored 250 legal opinions, arbitration reports, or reports commissioned by industrial enterprises. He has authored or co-authored over 250 articles published in national and international journals and conference proceedings. He is the author of two university textbooks and the author or co-author of 10 monographs and books on welding metallurgy, weldability of construction materials, subtractive processes and welding, pipe manufacturing for the transportation of liquid and gas fuels, corrosion and cracking of steels in contact with liquid metals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to his scientific and educational activities, he has also been involved in social activities. He was a member of the Editorial Board of the Welding Review, Deputy Chair of the Scientific Council of the Welding Institute in Gliwice, and Deputy Chair of the Polish Welding Society in Krakow. For his scientific research and educational achievements, he received 16 Rector&#8217;s Awards, 4 Minister of Higher Education Awards, the Golden Cross of Merit, the Medal of the National Education Commission, and the Knight\u2019s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
